Tabilio is a browser extension that helps you save, organize, and share collections of browser tabs. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights. Please read it carefully.

Information We Collect

Tab and Group Data

When you save tabs, we store tab titles, URLs, favicons, group names, colors, and any notes you write. All of this data is stored locally on your device using your browser’s built-in storage. We do not have access to your saved data unless you choose to share it.

Shared Tab Groups

When you explicitly choose to share a tab group, the group’s name, color, tabs (titles, URLs, favicons), and any notes you include are sent to our servers to generate a public shareable link. Shared links expire automatically after 7 days. You control what is shared and can choose whether to include notes.

Settings and Preferences

We store your preferences locally, including your chosen theme (light, dark, or system), view mode (grid or list), and sort order. These are used only to personalize your experience and never leave your device.

Feature Flags

Tabilio uses LaunchDarkly to manage feature rollouts. When the extension loads, an anonymous device identifier (randomly generated UUID) is sent to LaunchDarkly to evaluate which features are available to you. No personal information, tab data, or browsing activity is shared with LaunchDarkly.

What We Do Not Collect

Your browsing history
The content of websites you visit
Usage analytics or tracking data from the extension
Account credentials (Tabilio does not require an account)

How We Use Your Information

To provide tab saving, organizing, and search features
To generate shareable links when you choose to share a group
To manage which features are available via feature flags
To remember your settings and preferences

Data Storage and Security

All tab and group data is stored locally on your device and never leaves it unless you explicitly share a group. Shared tab groups are transmitted to our servers over HTTPS and stored temporarily (7 days). We use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect data in transit and at rest.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. Your data is shared only in these cases:

When you explicitly share a tab group, the content becomes accessible via a public link.
LaunchDarkly receives an anonymous device identifier for feature flag evaluation as described above.
When required by law or to protect our rights.

Your Rights

Since your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control over it. You can:

Delete any saved tab group at any time from the extension dashboard
Remove all data by uninstalling the extension
Choose whether to include notes when sharing a group

Browser Permissions

Tabilio requests the following browser permissions to function:

Tabs: To read your open tabs for saving and to open saved tabs when you restore a group.

Storage: To save your tab groups, settings, and preferences locally on your device.

Unlimited Storage: To allow saving a large number of tab groups without hitting browser storage limits.

Context Menus: To add a right-click menu shortcut for quickly opening Tabilio.

Host Permissions: Access to tabilio.com and LaunchDarkly domains is required for sharing tab groups and feature flag evaluation.

Cookies

The Tabilio website (tabilio.com) may use essential cookies for session management and preferences. The browser extension itself does not use cookies.
